Contact me to special order. | About Rayon Rayon is a combination of natural fiber (starting as a cellulose base) and manmade (chemical and mechanical treatments). All rayon, regardless of type, drapes beautifully and has a lovely sheen. It is much easier care than silk, although it feels almost as smooth on your skin.

The word boucle is derived from a French, meaning "to curl." But rayon boucle yarn isn't what I would call curly. It's twisty - it looks like you had your hair in braids for a few days then took the braids out before washing it. When it's woven, this twisty-ness results in a nubbly texture. These scarves are medium weight and easy to wear. The fine gauge rayon I use is thin, smooth, and has a nice sheen. It creates a light and airy scarf, one that's great for warmer weather outside or indoors all year. I recommend hand washing all of my handwoven rayon scarves and laying them flat to dry. Green and purple are opposites on the color wheel, but they do attract - each other, your eye, and admiring glances. The two colors interact rather subtly in this handwoven scarf, neither taking center stage. It also plays well with others, looking good when worn on both light and dark colors.

Rayon Handwoven Rayon Scarves
Summertime brings berries galore. Strawberries and raspberries, currants and blueberries, blackberries and cranberries, thimbleberries and mulberries. Need I continue?
These three handwoven scarves are all berry colored, yet all three are quite different. The scarf on the top has a medium gauge rayon boucle weft, and is mostly red with some purple accents. On the right, a lavender cotton boucle adds a bit a weight for when there's a chill in the air. The bottom scarf is the lightest weight, and the most dramatic color, woven with dark purple patterns. Each scarf is 7" wide and 72" long, and all are hand washable. Only the scarf on the top remains; the other two have been sold.
